I wanted to get piercings about 9 years ago... but didnt until I split with my ex 6+ years ago. I got 3 hoops on one eyebrow, one on the other. Both Triagas and labret followed in time during the past few years... labret is my newest which i got in July 2003. I now want a lip too ;)

So my 15 year old wanted piercings as soon as he saw that mom was cool with the idea. i put it off for a few years and let him get his first when he was 14.5 for a 9th grade - WHOOHOO passed the year - reward. He got a labret for his birthday 3 months ago.

Its weird for me, cause i got to all his games, be it football or basketball, or even TaeKwonDo class and the kids always stare. (oh did i forget to mention that I also dyed my hair bright red or bright purple?)

I am very open with my kids and tattoos, whatever... but how do you get past the looks, the smirks, the pointing? I try to ignore it or turn to them and give a small smile.
